DAILY TOUR PROGRAM
Day 1 - Friday 27
Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight across the Atlantic. Enjoy in-flight entertainment and meal service as you travel to start your vacation.
Day 2 – Saturday 28 (D) Praha - 1 night
Arrival at Prague Airport. Group transfer to the hotel from where your afternoon walking tour starts: Old Town Square, enclosed by Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and Rococo-style buildings before viewing Týn Church and its magnificent towers, the unique Astronomical Clock, St. Nicholas Cathedral, and Old Town Hall. Then, we’ll continue to the 14th-century Charles Bridge, one of Prague's loveliest and most characteristic sights with its 16 arches and 30 statues. Rest of the day at leisure. Join your fellow travelers for a WELCOME DINNER in the local restaurant.
Day 3 - Sunday 29 (B, L) Brno - 2 nights
Before noon we’ll depart to visit the largest museum of Czech National Costumes. It is the first and only museum in the Czech Republic that presents costumes from all (!) costume areas of the Czech Republic. You’ll enjoy seeing a total of 260 complete costume mannequins in the museum, a total of over 4,000 thematic exhibits, over 100 pieces of period footwear, and much more. PM, continue to our hotel in BRNO. Free time at leisure.
Day 4 - Monday 30 (B, L)
Guided city tour includes the Church of St. Jacob, Vegetable Market, and Cathedral of Ss. Peter & Paul, city center, and more. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 5 - Tuesday 1 (B, L) Krakow - 2 nights
AM depart BRNO to KROMĚŘÍŽ. In 1777, this town, located in Central Moravia became the seat of the bishops of Olomouc. The splendid Kroměříž chateau and its beautiful gardens are considered an especially attractive and well-preserved example of Baroque palatial and garden design. They played an important role in the development of Central European Baroque architecture of gardens and palaces. Guided city tour of adjoining colonnade and beautiful gardens. Free time for lunch. PM, continue to KRAKOW - Poland.
Day 6 - Wednesday 2 (B, L)
AM guided tour of the most famous sights of KRAKOW: the largest market square in Europe surrounded by old streets and home to historical tenement houses and churches. PM, visit the Salt Museum in WIELICZKA. The salt has been mined there since the 13th century. The historic underground chambers, shafts, and caverns, decorated with sculptures and carvings are connected by 2 km (1.25 miles) of passage. The “Chapel of Blessed King” is the biggest underground chapel in the world. The whole salt mine spreads over nine levels, it has 30 km (19 miles) of galleries with works of art, altars, and statues sculptured into salt, making a fascinating pilgrimage into the past of a major industrial undertaking. Return to Krakow – the rest of the day is free to further explore the sights of the city.
Day 7 - Thursday 3 (B, L) Opava - 1 nights
After breakfast depart to OPAVA. Guided city tour. PM, visit Bruntál Chateau. The current appearance comes from reconstructions in the 16th and 18th centuries. The exposition of the chateau consists of 26 halls on the 1st floor and the chapel on the ground floor. These halls are decorated with Rococo wall paintings and equipped with original equipment from the 18th to the 20th century. All this equipment was kept in high artistic and historic quality. Other parts of the exposition are a valuable picture gallery, armory, and library.
Day 8 - Friday 4 (B, L) České Budějovice - 3 nights
Morning, depart to OLOMOUC - a royal town since 1253. Olomouc - the oldest and the largest historical town protected by monument reserve in the Czech Republic after Prague - is full of precious monuments and landmarks. Olomouc is the Czech Republic's fifth city in terms of population but is second in terms of history and architecture. The 2nd largest historic preservation zone, 2nd oldest university, 2nd of the two astronomical clocks, 2nd tallest cathedral spire, and 2nd oldest monastery, all find their home in Olomouc and along with Prague, it's the 2nd of the old medieval capitals (of Bohemia and Moravia). Guided city tour - View the unique Orloj Clock; the most significant Cathedral of St. Wenceslas from 1109 and more. Continue to TELČ. The town consists of a long square lined with arcades and the church of St. James from the 14th century. The Chateau complex is the most impressive architecture in the region. Free time. Later PM continue to České Budějovice.
Day 9 - Saturday 5 (B, L)
AM, guided tour of the city center. The magnificent square is one of the largest in Europe. It is lined with Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque houses with arcades and Samson’s Fountain in its center (from 1727). The rest of the day is free for leisure.
Day 10 - Sunday 6 (B, L)
Enjoy a day with a trip to the medieval town of ČESKÝ KRUMLOV, the jewel of South Bohemia which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site universally recognized as a unique remnant of historic urbanism. The old town preserves, the
virtually intact and still vital ensemble of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque structures. Among the attractions is the secondlargest castle complex in the Czech Republic, the oldest working Baroque theater in Europe, and an open-air theater with a revolving auditorium. Guided city tour followed by free time for leisure/shopping of beautiful Bohemian Garnets or a chance to visit the chateau or further explore the town.
Day 11 - Monday 7 (B, L) Praha - 3 nights
After breakfast, we’ll depart to PILSEN. This West Bohemian metropolis with 170,000 inhabitants is the fourth largest city in the Czech Republic. Its historical predecessor was a former watch castle dating back to the 10th century. Pilsen is known for its famous Pilsen beer – Pilsner Urquell. After touring the Pilsner Brewery we’ll have lunch at the brewery restaurant followed by free time. Later PM, continue to Prague.
Day 12 - Tuesday 8 (B,L)
Day trip to TEREZÍN - was originally built in the 18th century as a strategic fortress for protection against the Prussian armies. During World War II the Nazis established a police prison in the small fortress, and the town itself was turned into a Jewish ghetto. Visit the small fortress of Terezín as well as the Ghetto Museum, which was originally built as a school.
Day 13 - Wednesday 9 (B)
Enjoy a free day to explore the sights of PRAGUE, or indulge in last-minute shopping for wonderful bargains including the world-famous Bohemian crystal, garnet jewelry, souvenirs, and many handcrafts. After breakfast, your tour ends this morning, leaving you with pleasant memories of a wonderful vacation.
